Customer Success Manager - Civil Engineering

Job Description

CivilGrid is hiring our first Customer Success Manager (CSM)! Your job will be to create an amazing CivilGrid experience for our customers and to lay the foundation for CivilGrid’s Customer Success function. As a CSM, you'll be the primary interface with our diverse client base, including engineering consultancies, municipalities, utilities, and construction firms. Your responsibilities will span from initial customer onboarding to ongoing support, all while ensuring users harness the full potential of CivilGrid's platform.

About You

  • As our first CSM, you have a sense of ownership over developing our CS function.
  • You have a strong bias toward action and can work independently with limited guidance. You don’t hesitate to jump in, figure things out, and get the job done.
  • Your exceptional communication skills enable you to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from public works officials to engineers and contractors. You strive to build close relationships with champions and key customers.
  • You excel at working both remotely and on-site with our customers.
  • You're passionate about civil engineering, utilities, and urban infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customer accounts, ensuring high levels of adoption, satisfaction, and retention. You will:

  • Deploy CivilGrid to new accounts and perform on-site onboarding.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to customer questions. Collaborate with CivilGrid team to address questions or deploy fixes to technical issues.
  • Perform monthly account reviews and monitor customer health.
  • Drive product utilization and account expansion - your job is to get more people using CivilGrid on more projects and to navigate around any adoption barriers you encounter.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within CivilGrid.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in customer- or client-facing roles
  • Strong technical aptitude in civil engineering and/or utilities
  • CAD and/or GIS experience are a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, primarily in CA (driving or flying), with flexibility for fieldwork and remote engagements
