Overview

As the Digital Product Manager, you will help Community Transit make travel easy by translating customer needs into new product features, creating a digital experience that works well for its users.  You will be responsible for delivering on our customer’s digital needs and ensuring our digital products are accessible to everyone. 

 

This is a hybrid position that requires you to be onsite in Everett, Washington for a minimum of 2 days per week. 

Essential Duties

  • Identify customer needs through research and testing, including talking with customers and monitoring their feedback. Align needs with the digital product management strategy and roadmap. Conduct user testing and analyze results. Review analytical data and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Develop and prioritize a backlog of user stories.  Use Agile software tools to populate and prioritize the backlog.  Run reports and regularly share findings that define progress toward meeting goals. 
  • Create acceptance criteria and define “done” for each product backlog item.  Use an evidence-based approach to guide choices.  Articulate the vision to business stakeholders and obtain cross-functional buy-in from other departments and divisions.
  • Compare results before and after new functionality and features are released.  Ensure products comply with accessibility standards and regulations.
  • Partner with the Scrum Master and provide clarity to the scrum team.  Participate in all scrum meetings and events.
  • Will partner with the Digital Product Designer and collaborate with the Digital Web Producer.
  • Provide guidance to vendors and partner with them to implement software solutions.
  • Develop business and application domain knowledge related to customer touchpoints that align with the Digital Product Management strategy and roadmap.
  • Research and recommend new tools and technologies to help the team improve its effectiveness. Consider where third party products might better solve customer needs. Manage SaaS vendor relationships.
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three or more years of professional expertise as a product owner or product manager.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Three or more years of experience using data and testing to understand requirements and assess outcomes.

An equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the job duties is also accepted.

 

Knowledge Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodology and scrum.
  • Understanding of product management processes.
  • Understanding of digital technology (websites and software applications).

  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Skill in using Microsoft Windows and related desktop applications and features.

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Transit industry experience
  • Familiarity with software tools such as Jira
  • Project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

 

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid telework is available, typically 2 days on site, 3 days remote (if requested).  Work is performed in an office environment and requires the use of office equipment and technology.  You will be required to move throughout and between different office buildings and may need to complete tasks in noisy environments. You may also be required to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds occasionally, and up to 10 pounds frequently.
