Staff Data & AI Engineer (L5)

As a Staff Data Engineer at Dayrize, you will be at the forefront of leading the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data systems. You will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and contribute to the overall data engineering strategy. Your role involves driving the development of robust and scalable data solutions, shaping the data engineering roadmap, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align initiatives with business goals. With expertise in data modeling, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, distributed systems, and cloud technologies, you will lead and execute complex data engineering projects, ensuring a significant impact on the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership and Mentorship:
   • Provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and influence best practices.
   • Lead and execute complex data engineering projects with a significant impact on the organization.
2. Data Solution Development:
   • Drive the development of robust and scalable data solutions, addressing complex challenges.
   • Architect and implement data pipelines, optimizing performance, and ensuring high-quality data.
3. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
   • Effectively communicate with stakeholders, influence decision-making, and provide technical guidance.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, establish partnerships, and drive alignment.
4. Strategic Contribution:
   • Shape the data engineering roadmap, aligning it with business goals and industry trends.
   • Contribute to the strategic planning and implementation of data engineering initiatives.
5. Project Management:
   • Develop project plans, set priorities, and oversee the execution of data engineering projects.

6. Expertise in Data Technologies:
   • Demonstrate expertise in data modeling, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
   • Utilize senior Python engineering skills to define the vision and design and develop data-driven and AI software solutions.
7. Google Cloud Platform Proficiency:
   • Leverage experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery, Dataform, and VertexAI.
   • Apply GCP knowledge to optimize data solutions and contribute to technological advancements.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Staff Data Engineer, leading the design and implementation of scalable data systems.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, SQL, ETL/ELT processes, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery, Dataform, and VertexAI.
• Senior-level Python engineering skills with a focus on defining vision and designing and developing data-driven and AI software solutions.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making and provide technical guidance.
• Demonstrated leadership in driving complex data engineering projects with significant organizational impact.
