Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Civil Leading Hand who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Based in Brisbane, you will be part of dynamic, innovative, and collaborative team renowned for its world-class thinking and solutions.

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage the daily activities of a Civil Construction team for ETCS L2 project delivery and coordinate all construction site activities according to project requirements.

  • Complete project documentation in a timely manner.

  • Manage project materials, to ensure no delays to project works.

  • High level of organisational and planning skills, as well as a great eye for detail

  • Collaborate with the HSE team to deliver site safety requirements.

  • Provide regular progress reports on construction activities.

Key knowledge and experience:

  • 5+ years as a civil supervision or leading hand in a rail and/or civil construction environment

  • Construction White Card

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.

  • Current Class A Driver’s License (MR License preferred but not essential)

  • Experience in concrete and foundation works.

  • Demonstrated competency in implementing Health & Safety initiatives.

  • Good planning and organisational skills.
