ERM is seeking a motivated  Consultant / Managing Consultant to join our Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change team in Sydney/Melbourne. The candidate will provide specialist consulting advisory to deliver impact to clients.

 The role will include the following responsibilities.

Managing Clients and Projects

  • Project manage delivery of client work. To include planning and execution of work, team and client management. And to ensure project delivery meets clients and safety expectations.
  • Apply subject matter expertise to client solutions in order to help our clients shape a sustainable future
  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills, excellent writing and presentation skills in delivering client work.      
  • Works with clients, builds and maintains relationships through project delivery, and demonstrates impactful communication in order to influence decision-makers and outcomes.•        
  • Leverage technical expertise to support development of opportunities, proposals,  and other marketing/business activities across the team, the company and broadly ERM global business.

Teamwork and Organization

  • Lead project teams to deliver impactful work, and manage project stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and skills development to team members.
  • Contributes to partnerships and relationships with clients, external stakeholders and key opinion leaders.
  • Contributes to knowledge management

Strong technical climate change skills

  • Will work to apply technical experience in the areas of carbon accounting, lifecycle analysis, climate risk, and decarbonization strategy. Works with clients across sectors.
  • Support clients to prepare for reporting against climate related standards and legislation, with a focus on the Australian market.
  • Support clients to identify and assess solutions and opportunities for decarbonisation.
  • Apply data analytics and quantitative modelling in Excel to solve client problems. To include development of carbon inventories, develop emissions projections, and calculate emissions abatement from specific decarbonisation opportunities.
  • Deliver physical and transitional climate risk and opportunity assessment methods (including scenario analysis)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science and management, economics, engineering, or similar discipline.
  • 4+ years of professional experience
  • 2+ years Consulting experience
  • Demonstrated experience working to support decarbonisation planning and intevention, and a strong understanding of climate related requirements, trends and legislation.
  • Ability to work independently, strong organization and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work products.
  • Personal resilience and flexibility to navigate through ambiguity and conflicting priorities while delivering results under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Highly regarded:

  • Climate Active Registration
  • Prior LCA experience
  • Prior project management experience in consulting
  • Experience in climate risk assessment and scenario analysis
