Job Description

EnviroScience is seeking a Civil CAD technician who would be responsible for:
• Creating CAD Civil 3D base drawings, including development of alignments, profiles, cross sections; Assembly and corridor creation for stream design
• Generating layouts, figures, details, and plan sheet set-up for construction drawings.
• Producing topographic surfaces from survey data; creating point groups, feature lines and break lines.
• Review drawings and translate design mark-ups to the electronic file/workspace.
• Utilize Civil 3D to perform routine calculations such as determining distances, areas, volumes, and other quantities for construction.

The technician should possess a thorough knowledge of coordinate systems, cartographic layout and design techniques. AutoCAD and Civil 3D working knowledge is a “Day 1” must.

The type of individual we are looking for would be a motivated, detail-oriented person with the ability to self-critique work products. We are looking for someone that works independently but can also handle a fast-paced team environment and shift between multiple projects efficiently. Good communication skills and accountability is necessary.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 2+ years working in civil engineering environment.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D; working knowledge of surface development, grading tools, assemblies, corridors, sheet set manager, and data shortcuts.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to Detail.
• Ability to track and organize drawing requests, markups, and deadlines. Maintain his/her individual project workload and schedule, communicating progress and status updates.
• Ability to understand civil engineering and specifically earthwork grading and stormwater infrastructure. Knowledge of civil plans and relationships among sheets within a plan set.
• Ability to develop and maintain CAD standards (i.e. templates, layers, details, notes, etc.)
• Topographical survey experience a plus.
