Are you a  skilled Technical Specialist ready to make an impact in the renewable energy sector? Our Project Sales team is dedicated to divesting cutting-edge renewable energy and battery storage projects, and we’re seeking an exceptional professional to join us. Working closely with the Head of Project Sales, you will be instrumental in managing the technical aspects of international equity transactions. Your expertise will be crucial in preparing and executing high-quality transaction materials and negotiating with investors. Play a key role in several international equity transactions in parallel, under the supervision of the Head of Project Sales: 
  • Take a lead on the technical aspects of sale processes that will either be run internally or with the support of an advisor, as agreed with the Head of Project Sales. 
  • Coordinate the provision of materials to advisors, and take responsibility for verifying the inputs shared with them. 
  • Liaise with colleagues and/or external advisors throughout the preparation phase, to help produce high-quality transaction materials (IM, Model, VDD, etc);  
  • Ensure correct knowledge transfer of relevant development items from the Development team to the Engineering team and assist in verifying the genuine development status of projects in advance of launch. 
  • Monitor and interrogate the quality of layouts, yields and assumptions utilised or produced by internal teams, such that these will stand up to diligence by investors and their advisors. 
  • Monitor and interrogate matters related to the construction and operation of projects which are to be divested, such as EPC/O&M price, contract terms, cash flow, and construction schedule. 
  • Ensure the robustness of technical inputs used within a sell-side financial model and the scenario comparison used within the development optimisation model.  
  • Assist with the review and assessment of relevant transaction documentation from a technical perspective. 
  • Support a Senior Transaction Manager by taking a lead in negotiating technical topics with investors, escalating to relevant internal expert teams where appropriate. 
In coordination with the Head of Project Sales and Senior Transaction Manager, assist with: 
    • Preparation of advisor RfPs and selection of advisors. 
    • Preparing/obtaining transaction budget approvals. 
    • Assessment of the commercial merits and risks of proposed transactions during the preparation phase, and input into relevant sections for board and investment committee approval papers before transaction execution. 
    • Provide transaction updates/summaries in written and verbal form as requested. 
  • Assist with maintaining key technical advisory relationships and stay abreast with key industry trends and/or market standards with regard to technical topics.  
  • Provide learnings from transactions to relevant colleagues and assist with the reporting of M&A activity, by encouraging the flow of information to/from the Project Sales and EPC departments. 
  • Set up and maintain a technical knowledge base for the Project Sales team capturing key principles, assumptions and lessons learned.  
    • Examples: Yield assumptions, PR calculations, PR analyses of operational plants, Degradation, Asset Life, Inverter Replacements, Warranties, etc. 
    • Database: Lessons learned from TAs & understanding of the methodology of each TA, such that we work with the correct TAs during transactions.  
Your profile
  • Proven experience in managing technical aspects of equity transactions within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of project development, engineering, and financial modelling.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with EPC/O&M contracts and construction management.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess commercial risks and opportunities.
