Scope3 has significant market traction with more than 70+ customers and is experiencing accelerated growth.

Scope3 is a fully remote company and largely asynchronous to provide flexible working hours and to operate globally, with concentrations in New York and Europe. At this time, we are hiring in Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and the United States.

Engineering at Scope3

Our engineering team values a high-level understanding of our comprehensive technical ecosystem. We prioritize this technical familiarity in order to facilitate effective collaboration, cooperation, and productivity in a cross-functional environment. Our tech stack includes:

  • Node.js for backend applications with Prisma ORM & PostgreSQL
  • REST and GraphQL APIs
  • React w/ Next.js for frontend applications
  • Low latency + high throughput golang API
  • Big Query Data warehouse
  • Airflow for batch orchestration
  • Temporal for event orchestration
  • Apache beam (dataflow runner) for some batch jobs
    • Most transformations are performed via SQL directly in Big Query.

The Role

We are excited to add a Lead Engineer to our Data Platform team, preferably based in EDT or European time zones. This individual contributor role will be responsible for building the underlying platform and shared tools to empower data engineers and data scientists. This person will also mentor earlier-career engineers, collaborate with product and design leads as needed, participate in interviewing/scaling of the all-up engineering organization.   

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience building data platforms in high volume/scaling environments across distributed teams 
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or Amazon Web Services
  • Expertise in Python, SQL
  • Big query or equivalent data warehouse experience (redshift, snowflake, etc)
  • Airflow or equivalent in house data platform experience (prefect, dagster, etc)
  • Experience with Clickhouse
  • Demonstrated experience perpetuating an inclusive and collaborative working environment

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

  • Experience with Golang, Typescript
  • Experience working in advertising technology, marketing, climate tech industries
  • Experience working at globally distributed remote startups
