ABOUT THE ROLE  


As an IT Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our organization’s IT systems. Your responsibilities will include providing technical assistance to staff, resolving queries, and ensuring the efficient use of hardware and software technologies. Building strong relationships through communication, problem-solving, and timely resolutions will be key to your success.



WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


  • Collaborate with IT team members to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Provide end-user support by addressing hardware and software-related queries.
  • Train end-users on hardware functionality and software programs.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and administration of servers, networks, and related equipment.
  • Perform regular system updates and backups as required.
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation in support of IT systems and procedures.
  • Monitor hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance system efficiency and recommend improvements.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and trends in IT support.
  • Ensure system security by following best practices.
  • Secure sensitive data and maintain data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, or enhancements.
  • Participate in other cross-functional initiatives as needed.



WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience as an IT support specialist.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft environment and applications such as Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure, Intune, Defender
  • Experience with various applications including but not limited to Bitwarden, Atlassian (Confluence, Jira, Trello, BitBucket), GCP, and Slack
  • Exceptional ability to provide technical support and resolve queries.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
  • Ability to train end-users on IT equipment.
  • Proficiency in IT helpdesk software, such as Freshservice
  • Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
  • Advanced knowledge of database maintenance and system security.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
