Position Summary

In this position, you will perform research and/or development in collaboration with others for projects.  Makes detailed observations, analyses data and interprets results.  Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement.  Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with scientific literature.  May participate in scientific conferences and contribute to scientific journals.  May be responsible for identifying patentable inventions.  May act as principal investigator in conducting own experiments. 

What You Will Do

• Expertise and hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning and Knock ins and Knock outs by homologous recombination, CRISPR, Cre-lox etc.
• Engineering Strains (Yeast/ Fungus/ Bacillus/ E.coli) to express heterologous proteins 
• Understanding the metabolic pathways of host and designing strategies to regulate / divert the genes for over expression of desired protein.
• Developing basic enzymatic assays for quick detection of proteins.
• Developing High throughput screening methods.
• Well versed with qPCR / ddPCR, liquid handling units
• Initiates, directs and executes all scientific research and/or development strategies in research and/or development.
• Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products and problems.
• Plans and executes laboratory research.
• Maintains broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
• Develop new concepts and ideas to extend intellectual understanding.

Education, Experience & Other Requirements

To be successful in this position, we expect candidates to have the following technical qualifications:

• MSc / M. tech in Biotechnology / Industrial Biotechnology / Genetic Engineering with 4 – 6 years of industrial experience
• Should have good communications skills.
• Should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Should have experience in analysing and documenting scientific data.
