The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs the physical infrastructure of a building or facility.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs basic and routine facilities maintenance, construction, and repair inspections and walkthroughs.
- Installs and maintains mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management systems.
- Assists with miscellaneous facility projects including, but not limited to, painting, drywall, carpentry, installation of fixtures, leak repair, and moving furniture or materials within the facility.
- Utilizes a work order system to log activities as required.
- Works with or assists trades contractors to complete projects or complex repairs.
- Troubleshoots problems and follows all operating, service, quality, and safety standards and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, related maintenance vocational training preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record (subject to Motor Vehicle Record Check).
- Knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical, or HVAC maintenance preferred.
- Ability to use standard power tools and office equipment, including basic computer literacy.
- Effective reading, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Standard computer skills and the ability to learn specific software for inputting data and preparing reports.
- Mathematical skills sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure.
