Your role
As our next Software Quality Engineer, you will join our fast-growing Technology & Data team. More specifically, you join our Carbon Markets Platform team. This team is responsible for one of our core products, a multi-standard platform that allows for the verification and validation of carbon credits. 
 
As a Software Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with our development and product teams to identify, document, and track defects, as well as develop and execute test cases to ensure our software meets the highest standards. You join an open and collaborative environment with a culture that fosters psychological safety. The Technology & Data team is very action focused, always trying to push the bar higher, and driven by SustainCERT’s mission of bringing scientific credibility to climate action. 
 
Our work takes place largely in a remote fashion. For this role, you are ideally based in Luxembourg. Applications from candidates willing to relocate will be considered case by case. 


Your key tasks 

  • Develop, document, and execute test cases for new and existing software features. 
  • Perform manual testing to identify defects and ensure software functionality. 
  • Automate test cases to improve testing efficiency and coverage. 
  • Trace and analyze failures to identify root causes and work with developers to resolve issues. 
  • Utilize Gherkin syntax for behavior-driven development (BDD) and create feature files. 
  • Conduct API testing to ensure robust and reliable integrations. 
  • Manage and track defects using defect management tools. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. 
  • Use TestRail for test case management and Mabl for automated testing (preferred). 

You have these claims to fame 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance or a related role. 
  • Proficiency in basic programming and scripting languages. 
  • Strong understanding of software testing processes and methodologies. 
  • Experience with manual testing and writing detailed test cases. 
  • Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks. 
  • Knowledge of Gherkin syntax and experience with BDD. 
  • Experience with API testing and related tools. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 

Bonus points for

  • Familiarity with TestRail and Mabl is a plus. 
  • Quality engineering experience for a cloud-first SaaS application.
