The role

As a Senior Lead QA Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the QA team and ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of test automation frameworks, mobile testing strategies, and API testing processes. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and ensure seamless product delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks and strategies.
  • Design and execute test plans for mobile applications, ensuring compatibility and functionality across various devices and platforms.
  • Conduct thorough API testing to ensure robustness, performance, and security of backend services.
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with development, product management, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and define test strategies.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure test coverage and adherence to QA best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in agile/scrum meetings, providing QA input and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management to provide regular updates on QA status, risks, and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in QA, with a strong focus on test automation, mobile testing, and API testing.
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG).
  • Strong understanding of mobile testing techniques and tools for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, etc).
  • Proficient in using JIRA for defect tracking and project management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in agile/scrum environments.
  • Experience with performance testing and security testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based testing environments and services.
  • Experience working at a startup is preferred.
