THE COMPANY 

Phase Biolabs is a biotech startup developing carbon upcycling technology to convert industrial CO2 into useful products.

We’re on a mission to decarbonise heavy industry and upcycle more than 1 gigaton of CO2 by 2050. We’re working on optimising the microorganisms that catalyse the conversion CO2 into chemicals and e-fuels as well as scaling our gas fermentation bioprocess.

Phase is backed by leading climate tech investors, Y Combinator (W22) and Bill Gate's Breakthrough Energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer and Partnership Development: Proactively identify and engage potential customers, forging strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including regulatory bodies to build strong, long-term business relationships and ensure ongoing success.

  • Commercial and Financial Projections: Build and refine financial models and commercial projections to guide strategic decision-making and support business growth.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead key cross-functional initiatives, aligning project management, comms and finance to achieve desired outcomes


Requirements:

  • Experience:

    • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role

    • Must have worked in a startup before

  • Skills:

    • Strong financial acumen and business skills

    • Fiercely proactive and ability to work independently

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field


Nice to Haves:

  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects, coordinating between teams, and ensuring milestones are met.

  • Fundraising: Experience in raising capital through grants or other funding sources.

  • Techno-economic modeling: Some experience working on TEA models (Capex amortization etc.)

  • Experience in a deep tech or climate tech startup

Some practical details:

  • Full-time, 2 year contract with option to extend. 

  • 40 hours/week

THE HIRING PROCESS:

We will review your cover letter and CV and if we think you might be a good fit we will invite you to an initial screening interview (10-20 minutes) which covers basic qualifying questions. Following this we will take a deeper dive into your skills and experience in a technical interview (30-45 minutes) as well as a cultural interview (30-45 minutes) to learn about you, your motivation and ambitions. We may ask you to visit us for a few days as well so we can meet. If successful, we will carry out referencing before an offer is made.
