Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Lead to join our team in the distribution transformer industry. This critical role will be to oversee Enterprise procurement activities and manage a team of sourcing specialists and an analyst support. This team will identify opportunities to leverage our supply chain spend to; secure supply, reduce risk, improve value delivery and ensure the quality and reliability of our sourced materials and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing within a technical or manufacturing environment, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of enhancing supply chain operations through innovative sourcing strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing policies and procedures that align with company objectives.
- Define, establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators to measure the effectiveness of the sourcing team as well as illustrate the value of the procurement function.
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that align with organizational goals to enhance overall business performance.
- Lead the procurement team, analysts, and supplier quality engineer to support ERMCO’s operational excellence.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the sourcing of materials and components.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms regarding price, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure supplier performance meets technical and quality requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships, including conducting evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Drive value delivery initiatives across the supply chain while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier performance.
- Implement supplier risk management strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of a supplier database, including performance metrics and risk assessments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the sourcing department, encouraging innovation and efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional certification in supply chain or procurement preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience with 5 or more years in strategic sourcing or procurement within the manufacturing or technical industry, preferably in the distribution transformer sector.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategies.
- Experience in leading and managing teams, including procurement professionals, analysts, and quality engineers.
- Strong background in supplier management, contract negotiation, and supply chain risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration across departments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and use data to drive decision-making.
- Familiarity with quality standards and certifications relevant to the distribution transformer industry.
- Effective communicator with the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels as well as facilitate collaboration across teams/sites.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Results-driven, with a focus on value delivery and efficiency improvements.
- Proactive and adaptable, able to navigate a dynamic industry landscape.

- Experience with ERP systems a must. Experience with Infor LN preferred
