PURIS produces and provides non-GMO, organic, vegan, allergen-free plant proteins to food manufacturers for use in a variety of sustainable food products. Summary of Essential Job Functions: 

  • Assist the Technical Solutions team with experiments, recipe testing, ingredient procurement, prototype sample creation, and product shipments. 
  • Engage in product development projects, from initial bench-top/kitchen trials to pilot plant laboratory stages. 
  • Perform product development experiments in the kitchen, pilot laboratory, and technical center, ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures and outcomes. 
  • Precisely prepare (weigh, measure) ingredients and product samples for experiments by developing detailed testing plans and timelines. 
  • Contribute to the development of new product technologies to support business growth. 
  • Maintain the laboratory, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment. 
  • Maintain and document lab supply inventory, including ordering additional materials as needed. 
  • Collaborate with other teams to uphold lab quality and safety standards, including cleaning, sanitizing, and ensuring safe practices for people and food 
  • Assist the marketing team in preparing food for marketing material shoots. 
  • Assist in prepping samples and marketing material for tradeshows and events.  
  • Help develop content for blogs, social media and other upcoming events.

Requirements

  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office 
  • Current enrollment in a food science related BS or Master’s degree 

Hours: Full Time (6 months September-February)
