The Role

As a Lead mechanic you will be instrumental in achieving Beryl’s goal to become the UK’s leading micromobility company by leading by example and following our high health and safety standards. You will be responsible for guiding, mentoring and training the team. You will know your assets inside out and are aware of all of our operating processes and always keen to improve existing and create new processes.


Responsibilities

  • Prioritise personal and workshop health and safety,  flagging any concerns locally and speak directly to senior Beryl management if you have concerns that are not being addressed.
  • Prioritise safety, report concerns, and manage accident reports
  • Support scheme lead with weekly and monthly health and safety audits/checks.
  • Train new starters, enforce KPIs, and perform quality checks.
  • Carry out quality checks on work - this can vary according to specific scheme and training needs of team members
  • Ordering and Management of parts and tools
  • Create and follow workshop standards
  • Firmware / tech support 
  • Identify and document issues and communicate to line management
  • Support the Operational Problem and Release Lead in investigating and solving issues
  • Ownership of your department’s responsibilities and actions
  • Regular Feedback sessions with the Scheme Lead
  • Be proactive in helping develop new practices and improve beryl processes
  • Ensure team members feel valued and listened to
  • Ensure accurate records whilst completing asset builds and repairs in our App
  • Carry out on-street work, if required


Requirements

  • Desirable: previous experience as a lead mechanic or similar
  • Interest and/or experience in mechanics
  • Be a team player
  • Be keen to further develop personal skills
