Job Summary:

Canplas is seeking a Canadian & Export Sales Coordinator. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for sales and order management, current account maintenance and strengthening relationships for Canplas plumbing & Endura separation technology divisions with our international business (export) and Canadian retail accounts. In addition, as the sales coordinator the candidate will be responsible for sales data analysis, compiling and managing sales reports, ensuring margins are in line with objectives, act as the sales team liaison between internal departments, while providing market trends and feedback to the National Sales Manager to ensure that profitability, sales and marketing objectives are met.

This position is based in the Canplas Industries Ltd office located at 500 Veterans Drive, Barrie, Ontario and reports to the National Sales Manager, Plumbing and Separation Technology. This is a hybrid office position with defined mandatory workdays in the Barrie sales/customer service office. Travel is required although it is limited (e.g. 10 days per year) and normally within Ontario.

Principle Responsibilities Include:

  • Sales Analysis and Margin review:
    • Regularly review Daily Sales Reports to identify unusual pricing margins.
    • Investigate and determine the cause of anomalies related to plumbing and separation technology.
    • Assist the sales department by providing necessary reports, collecting data by customer and region using tools as CRM, Excel, Power BI.
    • Collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Sales and International Orders:
    • Increase sales & manage existing international customers for the plumbing and separation technology divisions.
    • Receive orders and verify correct pricing.
    • Monitor existing international orders, working closely with manufacturing, operations, forecasting and customer service.
    • Update sales forecasts as requested and communicate changes to the appropriate personnel.
    • Provide educational sessions to international customers on new and existing products.
  • Retail Sales & Account Management:
    • Assign and manage pricing in collaboration with the National Sales Manager.
    • Handle day-to-day inquiries and assist with price notifications.
    • Organize and participate in trade shows.
    • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Assistant to the National Sales Manager:
    • Provide daily sales reports upon request.
    • Administration leader for trade shows and events.
    • Participate in monthly forecasting calls with the National Sales Manager.
    • Attend CIPH and selected industry events.
    • Attend national sales meetings.
  • Regular Internal Communication:
    • Report directly to the National Sales Manager.
    • Interact with a variety of individuals and teams, including the President, Sales Managers, Sales reps, Product Management, Innovation, Operational teams, Forecasting teams, Finance teams, and Marketing.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • University or College degree or 5+ years of B2B sales experience or sales coordinator experience
  • Post secondary education in business, sales or marketing is an asset
  • Experience within the plumbing or construction industry is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (French is an asset)
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic, sociable, willingness to learn
  • An organized, self-starter, who is driven to exceed goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications notably in data analytics - Excel (pivot tables) and Power BI
  • CRM and SAP experience is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel
