This position will have the opportunity to do meaningful analytical work that will support the implementation and enforcement of state and local existing building benchmarking programs and strategies that will utilize benchmarking data to advance building decarbonization efforts. This role will also be integral in coordinating and collaborating with other state, federal, and local agencies, stakeholders, and the public.

What you need to Qualify:

  1. Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional experience may be substituted for the required education on year-for-year basis.)
  2. Experience: Three years of progressively responsible technical professional experience in electric generation system planning, design, evaluation, or operation, including two years of experience above the trainee level. (A Master's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or other closely related field, may be substituted for one year of the required experience.)

 

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of decarbonization strategies, barriers, and programs related to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in existing commercial and residential buildings, associated energy saving and cost-effectiveness methodologies.

2. Knowledge of California energy policy and programs including building energy benchmarking.

3. Ability to lead technical projects from start to finish, on time, within budget, with input from a diverse group of public stakeholders.

4. Collaborative team player, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including making technical, public presentations.

5. Experience planning and running public workshops, collaboratively lead a team, interact positively with stakeholders, and provide expert consultation to management and commissioners.

6. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload.

7. Highly proficient in writing, analyzing, and evaluating policy reports.

8. Ability to compile and analyze data or metrics.
