YOUR MISSION
Software Engineer (f/m/d) to support the design and development of experimental payload hardware and innovative technology to be flown in space to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a number of orbital launchers. YOUR TASKS
  • Development/production of embedded software for a 3d bioprinter to be flown by ScienceTaxi to the ISS and orbital rockets.
  • Development of test and support software.
  • Performing software testing/verification of the functionality at system level.
  • Development of software for a number of other experimental payloads.
  • Support of management and engineering team with future proposals.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Degree in the one of the following: Software Engineering, Computer and Electronic Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar.  
  • At least 2+ years of experience.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming (Python, C++) for hardware applications.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems design, low-level hardware interactions is advantageous.
  • Skilled in testing and validating complex software systems.  
  • Experience in designing software architecture.
  • Ability to design graphical user interfaces would be appreciated.
  • Be a team player with good communication skills, supportive, well organized and have an independent way of working.
  • Basic Electronics knowledge is essential.
  • Knowledge about communication protocols.
  • Experience in programming microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of G-code and 3d printing protocols would be appreciated.
  • Fluently speak and write in English and ideally good in German.
Nice to have:    
  • Experience with camera sensors (MIPI / SPI / USB interface).
  • Experience with CAN and CANopen.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Experience developing Raspberry Pi / Microcontroller applications.
