Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer specializing in Secondary Systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a background in transmission lines or similar fields and a strong ability to manage electrical design, project delivery, and stakeholder collaboration. In this role, you will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of high-impact projects by overseeing technical and administrative tasks in electrical engineering.
Design:
- Lead the electrical design process, focusing on planning, conceptual, and detailed designs for large-scale transmission line projects.
- Conduct technical calculations, develop key documents, and draft procurement specifications.
- Manage digital design files, including drawing registers, transmittals, and change request documents.
- Prepare and present cost estimates for Design and Construction (D&C) phases.
Project Delivery:
- Oversee the development and organization of project documentation, working closely with clients, partners, and internal teams.
- Ensure electrical equipment is selected, installed, and constructed to meet design and project requirements.
- Lead scoping, definition, and tendering during the procurement process.
- Coordinate project documents, including tender and contract documents, and ensure proper filing of safety, quality, and environmental records.
- Assist in creating management plans, commissioning documents, inspection and testing procedures (ITPs), performance tests, and operations & maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Resolve non-critical project issues by analyzing technical information and making sound recommendations.
- Communicate with project teams and third-party stakeholders to address engineering challenges in civil and electrical disciplines.
- Prepare RFQs (requests for quotations) for electrical vendor equipment
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience in secondary systems, transmission lines, or similar engineering sectors.
- Proven experience managing electrical design, project management, and engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental regulations within the electrical engineering space.
- Experience with procurement processes, tender documentation, and contract management.
