The Tax Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company’s global tax compliance and strategy, ensuring the business operates efficiently across borders while aligning with local and international tax regulations.

What you will do:

  • Global Tax Compliance: Oversee and manage all global tax filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes handling cross-border activities, global transfer pricing, and complex business transactions. Collaborate with external tax advisors and legal counsel as needed.
  • Business Partnership & Strategy: Work closely with finance leadership and business units to provide tax guidance and support on various projects. Lead ad-hoc analyses and special initiatives to align tax strategies with business goals.
  • Process Documentation & Compliance: Maintain and update documentation for tax compliance processes, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and internal controls. Conduct periodic reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Business Tools: Serve as a key contributor in the selection and implementation of tax management tools. Oversee deployment, system transition, and team training to ensure seamless integration.
  • Stay abreast of developments in tools, techniques and industry standards/best practice and identify opportunities for tax optimization and operational efficiencies
  • Industry Knowledge & Optimization: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. Identify opportunities for tax optimization and operational efficiency within the organization.

Requirements

We want you to succeed so you will need:

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation, or a combination of equivalent certification and significant experience in tax compliance and strategy
  • 3+ years of Canadian and US tax compliance experience, with responsibilities extending beyond corporate tax return preparation
  • Familiarity with international compliance beyond North America
  • Takes initiative, ownership & accountability 
  • Gathers, analyses and present material clearly 
  • Comfortable as an individual contributor, collaborative team member and leader

Nice to have:

  • Experience with tax compliance tools
  • Familiarity with ERP Systems, tax tools or other relevant business tools
  • Familiarity with corporate tax strategies, such as M&A and other restructuring activities

Salary range: $125,000 to $150,000 per year

Please note that the base pay offered may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and experience, as well as business and organizational needs.
