Your role as a Trainee -  Grid Connection Engineer

This role suits you who like to handle challenges at the intersection between technology, customer and society. Right now we are seeing a strong growth in renewable energy, charging infrastructure and energy storage.

As a Grid Connection Engineer with us, you will shape and create a positive experience for the customer. You will have a key role for the customer´s experience and for us to be perceived as an enabler of sustainable development in society.

The daily work will consist of handling pre-notifications to make the grid ready to meet the customers required demands. In this way, you will understand the customer journey and based on these actions clarify the requirements we state on this type of connection and obtain good information about how the customer should proceed.

You will work towards national forums and interfaces both within and outside Vattenfall to ensure the right requirements for the customer and for us as a power grid company.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Participate in forums and pursue issues around production, batteries and energy storage.
  • Be active in the development that takes place around energy storage and new technology.
  • Work independently but in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for new technology, demands and ancillary services.
  • Act as the customer´s contact through the entire course of the connection process, where you continuously follow up progress with installers and contractors.
  • Plan and project new and old grid infrastructure to handle emerging demands related to feeding energy into our low-voltage network to find the best and most efficient solutions.
  • Perform electricity network calculations, prepare customer quotes and calculations and work with project descriptions.
  • Order execution by contractor, review preparations, follow up and report project finances.
  • Educate and spread knowledge in batteries and energy storage.
