Enbridge is looking for a Regional Senior Safety Advisor. In this role, you will provide Health and Safety support in the Athabasca Region in the full and systemic utilization of the Enbridge leading indicator programs, permitting compliance processes, incident management, internal/external communications, and contractor / subcontractor engagement. You will use their strong analytical, and report writing skills to review leading and lagging indicator trends to develop safety management system improvements.

Please Note: This is not a rotational or camp position, we are looking for someone to reside in Fort McMurray and work from Monday to Friday.
 

What you will do:

  • Operationalize the Enbridge Safety Culture Framework by promoting and seeking out opportunities to strengthen safety culture attributes.

  • An influential contributor in the development, implementation, and sustainment of occupational health and safety programs, standards, safety cultural assessments and training programs.

  • Provide technical expertise to operational leadership by reaffirming safety standards and work execution management through systematic assurance of work activities and participation in corrective action plans.

  • Support implementation of Occupational Hygiene plans, initiatives, and monitoring. Additionally provide constructive feedback on program improvements to the OH group.

  • Lead small work teams on problem identification, and problem-solving issues to support continuous improvement of operational reliability.
     

Who you are:

  • Degree/Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or related field.

  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation/ Certified Safety Professional or other Professional Board Certification is preferred.

  • Six or more years of professional work experience in the Health & Safety field within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

  • Influence without authority and work collaboratively with site partners.

  • A self-starter able to lead multiple tasks and work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, self-managed, strategic, initiate and manage change, work.

  • You will be required to undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5 year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored drug testing.
     

Working Conditions:

  • 70% +/- Office environment requiring extensive work on computer, networking with partners, research of technical issues and development of plans and reports.

  • 30% +/-  travel that includes field work and travel expectations for audits, reviews, inspections, assessments, meetings, training, and field safety support.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required to manage work priorities, accommodate field schedules, and address partner needs.

  • Flexibility to travel for extended periods (approx. 10 days) and work extended hours as required for emergency response support.
