The Senior Forestry Specialist is a functional expert within the organisation. Thus being the point of contact for other teams and stakeholders when forestry professional expertise is required. He/she owns the assurance of quality within the Data Operations Team.

Tasks

  • Functional lead and role model of the Forestry Specialist sub team and supporting them along the delivery process of Climate Projects.
  • Technical counterpart to the partner management team (Sales) in customer handover meetings, Climate Project Sales pitches, and similar (potential) customer appointments.
  • Presenting forest inventory analysis results to customers and helping customers to develop forest management plans (also for Climate Projects).
  • Go to person for any forestry related questions and unclarities which determine the product and affect its deliveries.
  • Defining and continuously optimizing operations processes with a special focus on forestry knowledge based topics.
  • Ensuring that forestry knowledge is made transparent in the Data Operations Team and across the company, where required.
  • Challenging and owning the Quality of delivered products and increments along the processing pipeline from a forestry experts point of view.
  • Pursuing quality assurances along the processing pipeline, defining quality criteria as well as ensuring these are met for product deliveries, i.e. hand over to customers.

Requirements

  • Studies in forestry engineering / management with exhaustive practical experiences in Forestry Sciences, preferably a PhD in this field.
  • Great technical expertise in the field of forestry, with a focus on forest management and strategic forest management planning (possibly forest economics).
  • Senior appearance at appointments with forestry partners, experience in customer handover talks desired.
  • Profound English skills for international customer appointments prepared and held in English.
  • Ideally prior knowledge in German forest inventory methods and procedures.
  • Ideally prior knowledge in forest management practices in the Nordic countries.
