CET is searching for a Client Services Strategist to build client and partner relationships and new business opportunities that align with and further CET’s strategic priorities. The Client Services Strategist is responsible for working with internal teams to ensure strategy for developing and delivering secured projects will meet client expectations. Where applicable, the position is responsible for identifying synergies across programs and/or customers and recommending actions to maximize impact and revenue.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt, remote position. CET will provide you with a laptop and other office technology. 


You're a great fit for the Client Services Specialist position if you can:

  • Work across CET's matrix structure to identify strategic focus for client development, including business area locations, individuals, or organizations to prioritize.
  • Serve as a lead organizational representative to meet growth targets for assigned strategic business line(s).
  • Develop concepts, create frameworks, create project budgets, and write proposals that will meet partner and client goals while working with the proposal development team to ensure proposals and budgets reflect the needs and requirements. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain institutional knowledge around the programs, services, approaches, market niches, key innovations, and lessons learned from CET’s work in the Strategist’s focus area.
  • Establish, develop, and strengthen relationships with potential clients, partners, and customers in assigned focus areas through networking, event attendance, cold calling, and/or physical site visits--This position requires moderate national travel.
  • Establish CET as a useful resource for prospective clients, partners, and customers by driving the relationship building process, including sharing information on CET’s services, providing technical information, and facilitating ongoing assistance as appropriate. 
  • Provide guidance for project delivery and acts as a technical and logistical resource where needed. Remain up-to- date on scopes of work and deliverables. Advise senior management on maximizing business relationships.
  • Use data from applicable software tools to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

 

In this role, you will also:

  • Assist with production of marketing and outreach materials when needed for business development.
  • Maintain membership in appropriate industry associations and maintains ongoing professional development. Attends trainings as assigned.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities with other areas of the business.


You will bring to this role:

A strong commitment to CET’s mission. A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in environmental sciences, business, or related field and minimum of 3 years of experience working in field related to the department’s activities. Excellent technical and programmatic experience and knowledge. Demonstrated ability to network and develop trusted relationships; excellent communication with ability to listen actively, speak effectively, and think on one’s feet. Strategic thinker who can bridge long-term business growth and development goals and near-term action and initiatives. Must have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Must be able to manage multiple customers and clients. Must be a problem solver with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style. Must be proactive, resourceful, organized, adaptive, flexible, and open to change. Works independently, with minimal supervision. 

 

Excellence in Microsoft Office, Internet, and databases. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical partners. Accuracy and attention to detail required. Ability to facilitate meetings and deliver presentations.

 

Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable insured vehicle. Must have ability to work remotely.

 

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements: Including but not limited to the following: Normal office environment. Repetitive keyboarding movements and sitting 6-8 hours/day.
