GE Vernova Power Conversion is seeking a talented and motivated US Citizen to join our team as an Entry-Level Electrical Hardware Design Engineer. As a member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative power electronic systems and automation packages.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Interprets customer and engineering specifications and office standards as they apply to specific designs.
  • Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics as it applies to electrical enclosure design.
  • Design electrical hardware for variable frequency drives and automation packages, including operator stations, remote IO cabinets, controller cabinets, low voltage AC and DC drive packages.
  • Create detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD, E-Plan, and/or Creo, based on provided specifications and working collaboratively with other engineers.
  • Directly support manufacturing builds, ensuring smooth production processes and timely delivery of products.
  • Interface with other engineers to gather requirements, understand project objectives, and develop effective solutions.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.
  • Selects standard components and hardware for designs.
  • Prepares bills of material, so that in conjunction with electrical schematics and mechanical layouts the factory has a full “for manufacture” package.  Maintains all manufacturing documentation and information

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with power electronics or automation systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, E-Plan, or Creo, or a similar CAD software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
