Centrica Energy (CE) is the energy trading arm of Centrica Plc, comprising c.900 FTE across the UK, Europe and Singapore. CE specialises in connecting the supply and demand of energy, leveraging our core skill sets in trading, optimisation and commodity risk management. CE’s core commercial areas comprise Gas & Power Trading (UK and continental Europe), Renewable Energy Trading & Optimisation (UK and continental Europe), and Global LNG Trading.

Our Global LNG Trading business specialises in connecting global supply and demand of LNG through accessing export volumes through offtake agreements, shipping LNG to demand centers (Europe, Asia), managing contractual flexibility within the portfolio to manage risk and extract incremental value, and taking trading positions based on market view.

We are recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst required to join a small, highly focused team working closely with the LNG trading business to develop and maintain a bespoke LNG trading and shipping operations system.

The role is based out of our London office (near to Marble Arch) with 3 days per week typically based in the office.

Key role accountabilities will include:

  • Manage the delivery of functional change, from the description of the business problem to the delivery of the solution in the system or business process

  • Provide analysis and document stories to enhance the existing application and/or new developments

  • Ownership and performance of the testing and approval of code changes, and ensuring sufficient manual and automated testing of functional changes

  • Complete analysis and testing in a timely manner and to the appropriate level of quality so that the delivered solutions are fit-for purpose, and can be efficiently supported

  • Work with the business users to provide comprehensive application support, from basic user queries and questions to application issue investigation and resolution

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members and business stakeholders.

The Person:

  • Experience in Energy Commodity Trading is required ideally with experience or knowledge of LNG

  • Proven experience in managing IT projects, system integrations, and digital transformation initiatives within a trading environment

  • Track record of successful delivery and innovation in previous roles, especially process improvements, automation and digitalisation

  • Experienced and comfortable working in a scrum team following agile principles

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
