HR Generalist (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:

The overall ambition of the Talent Management function where this role is positioned is to attract and retain the best M&S talent working cross-borders and cultures across the global M&S organization.

The HR Generalist will be responsible for overseeing comprehensive HR administrative processes, managing recruitment activities, and ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for new team members. The ideal candidate will bring a strong business acumen and possess deep expertise in one or more HR specializations, with a keen interest in expanding their knowledge to cover the full scope of the role. This is an opportunity to broaden your HR skills and be a part of a strategic and global transformation.

In this capacity, they will collaborate closely with HR colleagues across global locations, ensuring that all practices are in alignment with the company's standards and best practices.

  • Attract and recruit top talent, delivering an exceptional onboarding experience that sets new team members up for success.

  • Administer key HR functions such as bonus management, pay reviews, and training initiatives, ensuring efficient and accurate processes.

  • Drive internal team communications by preparing announcements and organising town hall meetings to promote clear and consistent messaging.

  • Manage HR information systems, upholding data accuracy, confidentiality, and operational efficiency.

  • Govern job descriptions, regularly updating them to accurately reflect evolving role expectations.

  • Handle intercompany recharging agreements, ensuring they are managed with precision and in compliance with standards.

  • Facilitate the annual performance management cycle, including goal-setting, feedback, and reviews, to align with organisational goals.

  • Contribute to the development and optimisation of new HR processes, promoting standardisation while adapting to changing business needs and best practices.

  • Assist with Purchase to Pay activities, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and optimising efficiency.

Your profile

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

  • Over 8 years of proven experience as a HR generalist, with strong track record of success in at least one of these areas: HR Operations, Talent Acquisition or Employee Engagement, with willingness to broaden capabilities across all three disciplines

  • Results-driven and strong business sense, with a focus on responding to leaders and employees with sense of urgency and appropriate follow through thereby contributing to organizational success

  • Ability to challenge the status quo; pursue different approaches by demonstrating flexibility, nimbleness, transparency, agility and global thinking

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage ambiguity – dealing with issues that do not always have a process or a system in place, and potentially with conflicting priorities and/or perspectives, balancing the need for collaboration with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the capacity to manage various HR tasks with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft clear messages and facilitate effective team communications.

  • Ability to perform with a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude, equally adept at thinking strategically and operationally

  • Cultural sensitivity and openness to work in an international business environment across all time zones

  • Excellent English level. Japanese proficiency a great plus
