Join the Propellers team based in Bristol as a Advanced Design Engineer (Propeller Hubs) to help us achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.What success will look like for you, as a Advanced Design Engineer (Propeller Hubs)?As an Advanced Design Engineer (Propeller Hubs) you will be the lead designer for the hubs, blade root and blade pitch system interface for Verticals cutting-edge propeller systems. This will be the configuration for Verticals VX-4 certified aircraft. The 3rd gen propellers are currently in the concept phase so the Hub designer will be a key part of an exceptional team at the genesis of a new product. The Hub designer will take full ownership of the part and installation 3D models and 2D drawings in the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) using the Dassault 3DX software platform, developing and refining the hub and blade root concepts, including material selection.What we would like you to bring.We want you to be successful in your role. In order to achieve this, you will have expertise in variable pitch propeller hub design, helicopter rotor design or wind turbine blade root/hub design. We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in solid modelling and surfacing using CATIA V5/V6 or 3DX, with excellent PLM system experience, and with expertise in General Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience in designing complex mechanical systems from concept to production and knowledge of metallic and composite materials is essential. Experience with Composite Part Design (CPD) and 3D Functional Tolerancing & Annotation (FT&A) in CATIA or 3DX is highly desirable.
