Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant, will be responsible for preparing various journal entries and transactional data, analyzing accounting transactions in line with IFRS standards. The successful candidate with work closely with the respective stakeholders to investigate and resolve discrepancies, assist in the preparation of financial reports for multiple entities in different tax jurisdictions, and help establish and maintain internal control procedures. The role requires strong analytical skills to think critically and recommend improvements to internal control processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams and performing various ad-hoc financial analyses as needed.


Responsibilities

• Preparing recurring and one-time accrual, prepaid and miscellaneous journal entries and transactional data
• Analyze accounting transactions in accordance with IFRS standards
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigate and solve reconciliation discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for multiple entities
• Assist in establishing and maintaining internal control procedures
• Ability to analyze and recommend internal control processes and improvements
• Work with multiple cross-functional teams
• Various other ad-hoc financial analysis as required


Qualifications

Required
• CPA designation or pursing
• 3+ years of experience
• Strong understanding of IFRS and public reporting requirements
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to tight financial reporting deadlines
• Ability to work in a dynamic and fluid environment
• Strong analytical skills and advanced formula and workbook analysis
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
Skilled in collaborating with teams to achieve shared goals and objectives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills


Valued (Nice to have):
• Public accounting firm experience
• Oil and Gas service industry knowledge
