About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Specialist to join our dynamic team at Solar Landscape. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our IT infrastructure, ensuring security, and supporting the efficient use of hardware and software across the organization. This role plays a key part in maintaining operational excellence as we scale, by leveraging advanced technology solutions and implementing security-first strategies.
We are headquartered in Asbury Park, NJ and are looking for the Senior IT Specialist to be onsite at least 3 days/week.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and software systems, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency.
- Manage and enforce permission systems for Microsoft AAD (Entra), SharePoint, and Microsoft Intune, ensuring proper access control and user management.
- Implement and monitor security tools such as Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Defender to safeguard organizational data.
- Configure and manage mass hardware settings and deployments using Microsoft Intune as the primary Mobile Device Management (MDM) tool.
- Lead the implementation and oversight of network architecture, VPN protocols, disaster recovery plans, and IT insurance policies to maintain business continuity.
- Manage the bulk procurement of IT hardware and software, including vendor contracts and negotiations.
- Stay current on security principles and ensure that best practices are consistently applied within the organization.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery strategies and data backup protocols.
- Familiarize with and help apply IT security frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or similar (Masters preferred).
- Knowledge of computer systems, software applications, operating systems, networking and/or AV systems
- Advanced knowledge of permission management systems across SharePoint, Microsoft AAD (Entra), and Microsoft Intune.
- Proficiency in security tools like Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and eDiscovery queries.
- Experience in mass-setting company hardware using tools like Microsoft Intune as MDM.
- Previous experience managing IT resources for organizations with 500+ people.
- Willing to work at least 3+ days in the office in Asbury Park, NJ (hybrid work model).
- Expertise with network, VPN protocols, disaster recovery plans, and IT insurance.
- Ability to handle bulk procurement of hardware and software, including contracts.
- Knowledge of fundamental security principles, experience applying principles, and a security-first mindset.
- Familiarity with NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, or similar standard a plus.
