Senior Public Relations Manager

The Senior Public Relations Manager is an integral leader within our Communications Team. They will be responsible for managing public relations efforts from within Zoox, supporting both the marketing and policy teams to ensure efforts are aligned, managing external PR agencies as required, and providing strategy as Zoox gears up for launch. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with developing PR and communication strategies, coordinating PR ops, pitching stories and news releases to media, writing press releases and briefing notes, and planning and implementing PR events. 

Responsibilities

• Plan, create and execute the PR strategy
• Coordinate with internal cross-functional team
• Manage external agencies to support execution of PR plans
• Manage inbound and outbound media requests; manage media visits and eventsIdentify unique angles and hooks for pitching to media
• Develop support materials including briefing memos, bios, and select show releases; write print materials, including press releases, press kits, etc
• Collaborate with content marketing team to leverage PR and media across owned channels
• Measure outreach and the effectiveness of content on an ongoing basis, including the tracking of effort expended, links received social shares and related SEO gains
• Coordinate media training and briefings for interviews
• Maintain reporting, archiving and informational databases
• Keeping abreast of industry and competitive trends and regularly informing policy and marketing of noteworthy news items and opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• 8+ years of transferrable public relations experience
• Experience working in both commercial organizations and agencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including formal correspondence and speechwriting 
• Proven desire and ability to think creatively in driving Public Relations efforts within an emerging industry
• Highly organized and strong attention to detail
• Ability to direct and strategize with both internal cross-functional partners and external PR agencies
• Ability to work harmoniously with internal stakeholders and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s value of exhibiting the highest quality standards in all endeavors
