We have a strong flexible, hybrid working ethos, we aim to be as flexible as possible to balance work with life. As a company we come together annually for our conference and end of year celebrations!

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You’ll be joining the People Team at Kaluza - a team of 20 spread across London,

Bristol, Edinburgh, and now Melbourne!

You’ll report to Emily, our Head of People Performance, but will have close relationships across the People & Finance functions as well as the wider business.

What will I be doing?

We’re looking for a People Development & Performance Partner to join our team.

You’ll be the only person doing this specific role so there’s lots of opportunity to use your expertise and have an impact.

We’re in a period of evolution within our business and need to ensure everyone at Kaluza is set up to be able to be successful and deliver maximum value within their roles, whilst feeling engaged, developed, and excited about our strategy.

Your role in this is looking at organisational effectiveness and helping leaders build a high-performance culture. You will set the frameworks by which our leaders and People Partners tackle structural issues to enable us to work at our best. This could range from looking at how we best immerse our new employees in Kaluza life, to mapping out a missing skill-set across the business, to assessing the impact of our job levelling on how we operate and make decisions.

We have a diverse range of roles within Kaluza: from software engineering, to data science, through to client-facing sales teams, so you must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholder styles, levels, and requirements.

Within this role you will be responsible for:

People development + performance plan:

  • Translate our business strategy aims into an operational people development + performance plan and execute with support from the wider business.

Organisational effectiveness:

  • Tease out root causes of performance issues and provide tools to improve them.

Performance management:

  • Own, iterate, and assess the effectiveness of our approach to performance management, specifically our annual performance review process.
  • Provide the framework for leaders to connect our company goals down to team and individual levels, upskilling them so they feel completely confident having great performance conversations.

Capability mapping and assessment:

  • Provide advice, guidance, and tools for how to best assess our business-wide capability gaps, working with leaders and our People Partners on how best to tackle them.

Talent succession:

  • Working closely with our People Partners on succession planning activity and VP/Director/Head of talent pipelining, improving the diversity of those pools.

Job levelling and career frameworks

  • Own the Kaluza-wide career framework and work with People Partners to embed and localise this within specific parts of the business to aid progression.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

  • Support our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy by designing tailored learning and talent management initiatives.

People + Performance Insights

  • Provide data-driven insight on talent and performance trends to inform decision making using a variety of sources

People development:

  • Lead the way with best-in-class learning solutions, with a focus on how we can build learning into the everyday. This includes managing relationships with our external partners.

Systems

  • The “Product Owner” for our learning and engagement platform Leapsome, responsible for iterating and improving it so we create the best experience and get a high return on investment.

Is this the job for me?

Given the diversity and breadth of this role, we are looking for someone who is deeply skilled and experienced in all aspects of organisational and people development.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Deep knowledge of organisational and people development practices.
  • A consultative approach which gets to the root of issues, as well as the ability to propose and deliver forward-thinking solutions.
  • Proven experience of being able to navigate organisational complexity, ideally within a global business.
  • Ability to constructively assess the effectiveness of our current practices, using data and insight to inform those assessments.
  • Understanding of behavioural science and what levers we can use to drive a culture of talent development and performance.
  • Ability to operate self-sufficiently and manage a diverse workload.
  • Ability to manage a budget and make smart commercial decisions on where we invest in people development initiatives.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Experience of management consulting from a professional services firm
  • Worked in a B2B software business

Why might this role not suit me?

We are a small, but highly focused team which means we’re looking for someone who enjoys connection and collaboration, but can operate confidently and relatively independently as a subject-matter-expert.

We are going through a period of significant evolution which is exciting and with it brings lots of opportunity and challenging work, which is not for everyone. To be successful in this role, you will be excellent at operating in ambiguous, changing environments and get enjoyment from making the complex, simple.
