Overview

The Business Solutions Analyst 1 assists with analyzing and improving our company's business systems and processes, developing and applying a deep understanding of how VEIC’s custom application features are leveraged to meet business needs. They will work closely with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, contribute to solutions, and implement changes that will enhance our overall efficiency and effectiveness. Work may include contributing to efforts to streamline production processes, creating better lines of communication, and collaborating with subject matter experts to determine what software products and processes are most useful to the company.  

 

Location:

This is a hybrid position, and the ideal candidate will be located in Winooski, VT or Washington, DC.

 

Compensation:

At VEIC, we are committed to pay transparency. The starting pay range for this position will be between DC: $33.43-$37.13/hr ($65,200-72,400 annualized) VT:$32.05-35.60/hr ($62,500-$69,400 annualized).  Based on market data, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and location. Please discuss your intended work location with the recruiter for more information. The total compensation package for this position also includes a full range of medical benefits, 403(b) eligibility with match, Combined Time Off (CTO), Care and Concern leave, Parental leave, wellbeing benefit, a community service day, and eight paid holidays that are effective as of your first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and requirements
  • Work with subject matter experts within DATS-IT to contribute to solutions to meets business needs, including process improvements, reporting/BI solutions and software (developed and/or procured) solutions
  • Participate in the development of functional and technical requirements for software applications and systems.
  • Analyze business needs to identify areas for improvement; support the design and implementation of efficient process solutions
  • Contribute to projects as part of a team, supporting the completion of project milestones on time and within budget
  • Follow established change management practices to assist in increasing project success
  • Conduct application quality assurance and help facilitate user acceptance testing cycles to ensure software meets requirements and specifications
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including user manuals and training materials
  • Collaborate with VEIC divisions to establish tracking and reporting systems for key organizational metrics
  • Draft communications as needed to ensure clarity around business goals and initiatives
  • Provide routine support for software issues and requests
  • Provide support to the activities of VEIC as necessary to accomplish organizational goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC
  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
  • 1-3 years of experience in program operations, including a strong understanding of workflow and data tracking needs and practices, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
  • Experience across multiple disciplines such as project/portfolio management, quality management/continuous improvement, advanced facilitation, problem solving, software development and/or implementation of service-based programs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to uphold excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated experience generating reports with spreadsheet and/or database programs such as Excel and Access
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to handle competing priorities are essential
  • Proven ability to be organized, detail oriented and accurate are essential
