We’re currently recruiting for a data driven and motivated Data Science Intern to join our team. This is a practical, hands-on experience on a fast paced, energetic, high visibility team. As a part of the Data Science team, you will work in a cross-functional environment with engineers and product managers to develop and execute our data analytics strategy and apply it to JLG products. The work encompasses the acquisition, transformation, and modeling of engineering, business, customer, telematics, and service data to improve our machines and add business value.  

Responsibilities

  • Execute analytic activities, including data gathering, cleansing and preparation, statistical transformation and modeling, feature engineering and selection.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data from various sources to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends with machine learning techniques using modeling tools (such as Anaconda Python or alike).
  • Work with senior team members and internal customers to establish requirements (resources, equipment, estimates, test plans, and milestones) and roadmap according to the needs of a project.
  • Utilize Power BI to analyze, validate, and aesthetically visualize data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a current undergraduate or master’s student working towards a degree in in Data Science, Computer Sciences, Statistics, or related field.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Familiar with stages of analytics lifecycle include data extraction, validation, and cleansing.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, and programming concepts.
  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning concepts and tools
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
