About The Fellowship:

The Climatebase Fellowship, now in its sixth iteration, is our climate career accelerator for top mission-driven professionals. Bringing together selective cohorts of Fellow peers and experts, the community-focused interdisciplinary educational experience is designed to help talented professionals accelerate their existing careers in climate or transition into the space.

The Fellowship includes an online 12-week cohort-based program and 1 year of membership in the broader Fellowship community after the cohort concludes.

Position Overview:

The Climatebase Fellowship is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Curriculum Designer. The selected individual will contribute to developing a high-impact interdisciplinary curriculum focused on climate solutions.

This role involves redesigning and iterating upon our existing curriculum to foster active learning and deepen Fellows’ climate literacy. The Curriculum Designer will closely collaborate with the Curriculum Instructor, who will be responsible for delivering engaging educational sessions and creating meaningful, real-world applications of climate knowledge.

This is a Contract position offering 15-20 hours of work per week.

Experience & Qualifications

Curriculum Design:

  • Proven experience in setting clear, achievable learning objectives and creating educational content that aligns with these goals.

  • Experience developing curriculum through a blend of learning methods, including live instruction, written materials, and practical assignments.

  • Familiarity with virtual learning environments is preferred.

  • Ability to design curriculum on both familiar and unfamiliar topics with a strong focus on interdisciplinary approaches.

  • Solid understanding of how to create sequenced learning experiences that connect theory to real-world applications.

  • Knowledge of learning evaluation techniques to assess curriculum effectiveness and make iterative improvements.

Climate Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of climate solutions through the lenses of science, policy, economics, finance, technology, and environmental justice.

  • Strongly preferred: a Graduate degree in a relevant field or substantial professional experience in climate or a related sector.

  • Ability to research and develop educational content on unfamiliar topics related to climate and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Design:

  • Redesign the existing Climatebase Fellowship curriculum to identify opportunities for enhancing our interdisciplinary approach to climate solutions.

  • Build upon current resource guides to expand learning materials, providing additional opportunities for Fellows to deepen their knowledge based on their individual experience levels.

  • Design practical assignments that empower Fellows to apply their knowledge to both their Fellowship goals and real-world challenges.

  • Use data-driven insights to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and make iterative improvements for continuous enhancement.

Climate Knowledge:

  • Stay up-to-date with recent developments in climate science, policy, and technology to ensure that live instruction reflects the latest knowledge and industry standards.

Additional Impact Areas:

  • Share input on the selection of guest speakers and topics to enhance the learning experience for Fellows.

  • Develop and evolve the curriculum to include a blend of digitized content and live instruction for a comprehensive and flexible learning experience.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve the breadth and depth of the educational content delivered to Fellows.
