About Epirus

Epirus is a high-growth technology company dedicated to overcoming the asymmetric challenges inherent to the future of national security. Epirus' flagship product, Leonidas, is a software-defined system built using intelligent power management techniques which allow power-hungry systems to do more with less.

Job Summary: This is an exciting role in a growing company. The RF Systems Engineer will own the architecture, system design, calibration, and validation of Epirus high-power microwave phased array systems. They will work with the RF design team to facilitate the Concept of Operations (CONOPS) definition, requirements and interface definition, and verification and validation planning and execution for Epirus high-power microwave phased array systems. The ideal candidate has experience with the end-to-end design flow of a phased array system, from initial architecture trade studies to requirements definition to final system integration, calibration, and validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the RF Design team to define and capture RF System architecture for Epirus phased array products
  • Define and iterate on product concept of operations (CONOPS) for a variety of phased array applications
  • Develop and own RF systems modeling artifacts such as system architectures, gain/loss budget, and end-to-end system power calculations
  • Model and simulate phased array elements and systems in HFSS/CST or similar
  • Develop and refine phased array calibration and verification methodology, including near-field probe testing
  • Develop system-level test plans to exercise and measure functionality and performance of RF systems, in both indoor chambers and remote field test sites.
  • Develop architecture and CONOPS of phased array fed reflector systems, including simulations in TICRA/GRASP or similar
  • Troubleshoot system level RF issues/failures and provide recommended paths forward
  • Hold design reviews and presentations with peers and act as an expert reviewer

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in RF Engineering and phased array systems
  • 10 - 15 years of industry experience, preferably with experience spanning the entire product lifecycle (Concept to Delivery)
  • US Citizen or permanent resident (future security clearance may be required)
