Here at Elephant Energy, we know that there is a better way, so we are building a one-stop shop that makes it easy to upgrade to a climate-friendly home. We enable homeowners to confidently make the switch to modern, electric technologies and get their homes off of fossil fuels – all at once, or over time.
Founded in 2021 by DR and Josh with the goal to accelerate the end of fossil fuel use, our first installation was in Boulder, Colorado in December 2021 and in three short years, we have successfully:
Launched a second market in Boston, Massachusetts, in summer 2023
Installed >1,000 heat pumps in >500 unique homes, receiving these amazing Google reviews along the way
Amassed 40+ herdmembers, with plans to continue to expand based on our early and continued success in #electrifyingeverything
Completed a successful Seed stage fundraise, with plans to raise a Series A in 2025.
What you would be doing: We are excited to add a pair of General Managers (GMs) to our team! Reporting to our co-founder, DR, and embedded with local teams in either Denver or Boston, these GMs will oversee the successful sales, execution, and delivery of all projects within their respective market.
The GM will ensure that all operational processes are efficient and that projects are delivered on time, in scope, and on budget. This role requires a seasoned operations leader with exceptional project management expertise. Accountable for the profitability of their respective market, the GM will manage teams responsible for sales and delivery, while leveraging corporate support for other functions such as marketing, supply chain, trade partner management, and customer success. Responsibilities include though are not limited to:
Big Things:
Financial Management: Own the market’s P&L to ensure revenue targets are met and projects are delivered profitably, while identifying growth opportunities and managing risks.
Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations by managing two core teams:
Home Comfort Advisors (HCAs) – responsible for consultation, project design, financing, and contracts.
Project Managers (PMs) – focused on customer outcomes, installation timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HQ teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success) to improve products, enhance customer experiences, and align on strategic goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, officials, and industry partners to enhance market presence. Represent Elephant at local events and forums, shaping the company’s brand and story.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement, aligning with corporate goals. Provide regular financial and operational reports to the executive team.
Team Development: Focus on building, mentoring, and retaining a high-performing team. Gather market insights and manage local regulatory, policy, and compliance matters.
What you won’t be doing:
This role does not oversee marketing. Nor does it manage supply chain or control OEM selection. These functions are managed by centralized teams, allowing the GM to focus solely on operational execution and service delivery.
Timeline for role expectations:
Within 1 Month:
Gain a deep understanding of our business, local market, and competitive landscape.
Shadow HCAs and PMs to learn the sales and delivery processes.
Identify initial areas for operational improvement and potential quick wins.
Hold one-on-one meetings with each team member to establish team dynamics.

Establish KPIs and dashboards to guide decision-making.
Develop a strategic plan for 2025 with revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals.
Build cross-functional relationships with headquarters for resource alignment.

Achieve consistent revenue and margin targets, aligned with P&L goals.
Optimize project timelines and resource allocation to improve delivery speed and efficiency.
Implement a scalable onboarding and training program for new HCAs and PMs.
Launch a local outreach initiative to increase brand visibility and partnerships.
Develop a post-installation customer satisfaction metric to proactively improve service and reduce negative reviews.

Annual compensation (base+incentive) will range between $140,000 – $180,000+. Incentive compensation tied to financial performance and customer satisfaction will be uncapped. Salary will be commensurate with experience and in line with internal compensation bands.
