What will you do as Energy Simulation Engineer?
Your day kicks off with a call from one of our sales colleagues needing a "last-minute" lifeline for a technical question. A client is buzzing with queries about a battery system, and you're just the powerhouse to give them answers they are craving for. You dive into the challenge with gusto because, hey, handling high-pressure situations is your kind of fun. Complex technical issues? Bring 'em on – you eat those for breakfast! Once you’ve convinced the client with your wizardry, you’re off to the next big thing: sales dimensioning! You’ll dissect data, draft future scenarios, and create spot-on forecasts that ensure every client gets what they need to make the perfect choice for their BESS solution. You’re great at diving into the data and seeing the “magenta thread” to assure tailor-made solutions. This means understanding sources ranging from 'kwartierdata" and contracted power to big-picture growth plans (think charging stations and machine expansions). And if things get tricky, you’re not afraid to say “hold up” when you need to guide clients to the best solution. In this role supporting our sales team is your #1 priority! You’re ready to stick your fingers in almost anything, with one exception: electrical sockets! Here’s an overview on how you'll spend your time:

• Shockproof Calculations: You take raw data, crunch the numbers, and create rock-solid recommendations. You’re the one proving how our solutions pay off. No guesswork here – if you’ve run the math, we know it’s airtight! (~40% of your time)
• Develop Big Ass tooling; You have a strong interest in collaborating and contributing to automating analysis processes, we have to keep on dreaming! (~30% of your time)
• Data Analysis & Support: Whether it’s software, electrical, or mechanical aspects, you’re lending a hand (~20% of your time)
• Tech Challenges: battery packs, balancing towers or BESS-systems as a whole - challenges know how to find you but you track 'em down yourself too. (~10% of your time)

Who are we looking for?

You’ve got the analytical chops to spot solutions others miss, and you can communicate like a pro with a whole lof of different layers in- and outside of the company. • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics is a must
• Practical thinker with a no-nonsense, solution-first attitude
• Empathetic approach that aims for win-win outcomes in every client interaction
• Top-notch analytical skills and the ability to shine under pressure
• Excel wizard (seriously, there’s no “close enough” in your world)
• Familiar with Python or C++ (even better if you’ve mastered them)
• A sense of humor, resilience, and a whole lot of self-confidence – because at Big Ass Battery, you’ll need it!
