Are you that fearless engineer with boundless energy and a knack for cracking complex puzzles? At Big Ass Battery, we’re on the hunt for an Energy Simulation Engineer who’s not only ready to roll up their sleeves but can also bring a smile to our faces while tackling big energy challenges.
What will you do as Energy Simulation Engineer?
Your day kicks off with a call from one of our sales colleagues needing a "last-minute" lifeline for a technical question. A client is buzzing with queries about a battery system, and you're just the powerhouse to give them answers they are craving for. You dive into the challenge with gusto because, hey, handling high-pressure situations is your kind of fun. Complex technical issues? Bring 'em on – you eat those for breakfast! Once you’ve convinced the client with your wizardry, you’re off to the next big thing: sales dimensioning! You’ll dissect data, draft future scenarios, and create spot-on forecasts that ensure every client gets what they need to make the perfect choice for their BESS solution. You’re great at diving into the data and seeing the “magenta thread” to assure tailor-made solutions. This means understanding sources ranging from 'kwartierdata" and contracted power to big-picture growth plans (think charging stations and machine expansions). And if things get tricky, you’re not afraid to say “hold up” when you need to guide clients to the best solution. In this role supporting our sales team is your #1 priority! You’re ready to stick your fingers in almost anything, with one exception: electrical sockets! Here’s an overview on how you'll spend your time:
Who are we looking for?
No surprise here – we’re looking for someone with positive energy! You’ll be joining a fast-growing company packed with ambition, and you’re as curious as ****, always teaching yourself new tricks. You’ve got the analytical chops to spot solutions others miss, and you can communicate like a pro with a whole lof of different layers in- and outside of the company. You’re bold enough to ask the hard questions and flexible enough to jump into any area we throw at you. You got what it takes:
What does Big Ass Battery have to offer you?

About Big Ass Battery 🔋
We are Big Ass Battery; a fast-growing scale-up in the premier league of the energy transition. We build energy storage systems at the highest level: from battery cell to complete 10ft battery containers. Big Ass Battery is a Dutch company and we are located in Helmond. We didn't fit in our previous office anymore so that is why we traded up in november 2023 to our new facility of 15.000 m2 and a total surface of 41.775 m2! When you join our team, you not only contribute to the production of batteries, but you also contribute to the growth of a company with big ass ambitions. Our batteries are an important part of the solution to the current challenges we face in the energy transition. For example, you can place a Big Ass Battery at an event location or for charging electric cars. Or on a construction site where a sustainable company wants to use electric excavators and other power tools. Companies can even link a revenue model to the use of the Big Ass Battery. Agricultural companies, for example, use the Big Ass Battery for solar energy storage. In short, plenty of possibilities.
