As a Country Marketing Manager at Ecosia, reporting to the CMO, you will be responsible for accelerating acquisition growth, contributing to the P&L for your local market (in close partnership with CMO and other marketing stakeholders), and increasing brand awareness and market share.

You will own the execution of marketing campaigns, align local messaging with global brand strategies, and build strategic partnerships that facilitate consumer acquisition and retention.

Additionally, you will be the face of Ecosia in your local market, working closely with the press and representing the brand in public-facing activities. This high-impact role translates global brand initiatives into compelling local campaigns, ensuring Ecosia is positioned as a leader in the climate-active search engine and tech app space.

What you'll do

Acquisition Growth & P&L Ownership:

  • Own the growth targets for user acquisition and contribute to the P&L for your market with the CMO.

  • Design, implement, and optimize strategies to promote user growth, ensuring efficient and effective marketing spend.

  • Evaluate local market performance, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI and meet market-specific goals.

    Marketing Campaigns & Brand Awareness:

  • Develop and coordinate local marketing campaigns that increase brand awareness and market share.

  • Partner with central marketing teams to adapt global campaigns for local relevance, ensuring campaigns resonate with local audiences and address specific market needs.

  • Measure and report the effectiveness of campaigns, continuously improving strategies for greater impact.

    Brand Localization & Positioning:

  • Lead the localization of global brand initiatives, adapting messaging and positioning to fit the local cultural, social, and market context.

  • Ensure consistent brand representation across all marketing channels while maintaining a strong alignment with global brand guidelines.

  • Collaborate closely with the global marketing team to drive cohesive messaging.

    Strategic Companies, Organizations, and Brand Partnerships** (in partnership with Partner Account Manager):

  • Identify and establish new local companies, organizations, and brand partnerships (discounts, perks, and collaborations) that not only facilitate an acquisition uplift but also enhance Ecosia's attractiveness and retention.

  • Develop co-marketing initiatives with partners that increase Ecosia’s visibility and appeal in the local market.

  • Continuously evaluate the outcomes of local partnership initiatives, adjusting as necessary to meet growth goals.

    Press Relations, Social Media & Public Representation:

  • Serve as the public face of Ecosia in your local market, representing the brand in media engagements, interviews, events, social media, and public forums.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to drive positive coverage and raise Ecosia’s profile.

  • Work with the global brand and communications team to incorporate social presence in local countries, press inquiries, craft press releases, and deliver compelling narratives about Ecosia’s mission and impact.

What you bring

  • Proven history of acquisition marketing, with ownership of P&L and growth targets.

  • 10+ years of experience running local marketing and campaigns, with comprehensive knowledge of the US market. A sales background would be a bonus.

  • Ability to identify and build partnerships that promote consumer growth and retention.

  • Comprehensive media relations skills, with experience managing press and public relations.

  • Advanced communication and leadership skills, with experience building cross-functional relationships.

  • Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and optimize marketing strategies.

  • Deep understanding of brand strategy, positioning, and communications.
