Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Partnership and M&A Manager to join our team of innovators. You will lead the company’s efforts to form high-value partnerships, explore strategic investments, and manage mergers and acquisitions to drive growth and innovation. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in the technology and railway industries and a proven track record in deal-making, negotiation, and alliance-building. You will work closely with executive leadership to identify and execute opportunities that align with the company’s growth and sustainability objectives.

Your Impact:

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with potential technology partners, alliances, and strategic collaborators that align with the company’s vision and goals.
  • Lead the negotiation and structuring of partnership agreements, ensuring terms support the company’s operational and financial goals.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product, and Sales teams to ensure partnerships drive mutual value, innovation, and long-term sustainability.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • Develop and execute the M&A strategy to support business growth, enhance capabilities, and create a competitive advantage in the technology-driven railway industry.
  • Lead the end-to-end M&A process, including target identification, financial analysis, due diligence, negotiation, integration planning, and execution.
  • Partner with legal, financial, and operational teams to manage post-merger integration and ensure value creation and alignment with company objectives.

Market Analysis & Opportunity Sourcing:

  • Conduct in-depth industry and market analyses to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of strategic targets, partnerships, and M&A opportunities by analyzing technology advancements, industry shifts, and competitor activity.

Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in the railway and technology sectors, including suppliers, customers, regulators, and industry bodies.
  • Serve as a senior representative for the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, promoting the company’s strategic agenda.

Financial & Strategic Planning:

  • Work with the CFO COO and finance team to assess the financial viability of partnership and M&A opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic and financial goals.
  • Develop business cases and financial models for potential deals, presenting them to executive leadership and the board.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead a team (if applicable) focused on partnerships, M&A, and strategy, fostering a culture of high performance and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders across functions, including Technology, Sales, Product Development, and Operations, to drive partnership success and alignment with corporate goals.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, M&A, or corporate development, with at least 5 years in a technology or railway industry setting.
  • Proven track record of executing complex partnerships and M&A transactions in technology or related fields.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and sustainability in the railway sector.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strategic mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Results-driven with a focus on long-term growth and value creation.
