kencko is seeking a freelance or full-time Senior Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team.


Location Portugal, remote


Main goals

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our growing BI team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and a sharp business mind to work on a variety of projects, from analytics engineering to deep-dive analyses. You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing strategic and hands-on tasks in a small, collaborative team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise our BI tools and reporting infrastructure (e.g., Omni, Looker, Holistics).
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines and models using dbt, SQL, and Python.
  • Deliver actionable insights through in-depth analyses, ad-hoc reports, and predictive modelling.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to address business challenges, provide data-driven solutions, and measure success.
  • Maintain and enhance semantic layers in BI tools, ensuring consistent and accurate data representation.
  • Collaborate on analytics engineering initiatives, including data model optimisation and scalability.
  • Explore and implement machine learning solutions to enhance decision-making, where applicable.


Qualifications

  • Strong experience with SQL, Python, and dbt.
  • Proficiency in at least one semantic-based BI tool (e.g., Looker, Omni, Holistics).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle diverse tasks, from business reporting to deep analysis and tool development.
  • Highly driven, with a curious and analytical business mindset.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.


Nice to have

  • Experience in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or retail industry.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning applications.
  • Proven ability to thrive in small teams and handle a wide range of responsibilities.
