Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Energy & Billing

Synop was founded in 2021 and has quickly become one of the leading commercial electric fleet management companies. Backed by world-class investors like Obvious Ventures, WireFrame and Congruent Ventures, we’re tackling the growing climate crisis head on by helping commercial fleets scale their EV’s.

We have been able to become an all in one solution for commercial electric vehicle management, by combining and integrating various data sources (chargers, vehicle telematics, utilities tariffs & signals, etc), building on and augmenting standards-based approaches (OCPP, OCPI, FMS, and others), and by seeking a deep understanding of the unique challenges + unique opportunities that owning and operating EVs presents to businesses.

As we continue to grow our customer base & product offerings, we are looking for a full-stack engineer who will help us meet our goals by working closely with the rest of the product & engineering team to deliver products quickly and reliably. What this role will consist of

• Designing, developing, testing and deploying APIs, backend services, and frontend features.

• Turning product requirements into an implementation plan, and executing on that plan

• Communicating across the team to help identify dependencies, remove blockers, and improve processes for better and faster delivery

• Writing user documentation and tutorials to help create a highly usable product

Your Qualifications

• You have 5+ years of full-stack development experience, including experience with Java, Typescript, and ideally Python.

• You have experience and are comfortable leading large projects from design through implementation

• You have a desire to continuously improve our processes and find creative solutions to operational challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or Masters in Computer Science or similar field

• Experience with IoT and/or embedded systems

• Experience in Clean Tech or Energy Industries

• Experience working with early stage startups

• Experience working with remote teams
