Woodard & Curran is growing!  To support this growth, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Project Manager for the water and wastewater utilities in Groveland, Florida. The City of Groveland is one of the most rapidly growing cities in Florida, known as ‘The City of Natural Charm and Unlimited Possibilities'. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, routine and capital maintenance and management, administrative duties, and client communications with several city departments. You will oversee a staff of 24+ employees in the daily operations and maintenance of both water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, reuse system, collections, distribution and customer service-related duties.  Employees who join Woodard & Curran’s staff find a culture that is welcoming, supportive, and empowering.  


What would you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

  • Day-to-day operations and management of all water, wastewater, and reclaimed water facilities and assigned pump stations.
  • Day-to-day operations and management of a SCADA System and remote communications network.
  • Implementation and management of an innovative predictive maintenance management program and a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Administration and implementation of all routine and capital repair and replacement projects.
  • Emergency responses for process upsets, equipment failures, force majeure events, all alarm events etc.
  • Provision of requested / required operations and compliance reporting to regulatory agencies and municipality.
  • Management and oversight of a large Capital Improvement Plan.
  • Collaborate with engineers on future planning and ongoing construction administration.  
  • Attend council meetings and present project update presentations.
  • Promote and develop staff members.
  • Review development plans and permits and attend pre-construction meetings.
  •  
    The Project Manager will play an active role in coordination and communication with assigned staff, client representatives, contractors, and any assigned engineering firms. He or she will also work closely with all parties to ensure effective system operation and optimization.  The successful candidate will be responsible for performing hands-on work and producing all required reports.  He or she will coordinate the on-going daily operation of the utility system.
     
    Schedule:

    Hours 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m., Monday - Friday.  Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of this position. Availability for standby duty and the ability to be “on-call,” working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.  Response to emergency events and alarm callouts as scheduled and required.

What would you need to succeed?

  • Senior Manager with 10 to 15 years’ experience in managing complex water and/or wastewater utilities including laboratory, collection and distribution systems.
  • Ensure safety is the highest priority and that all SOPs are followed, and DOT, OSHA, Health & safety and other requirements are met.  Conduct routine facility inspections and interact with regulators as required.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative and team leadership approach to this position.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with staff management, technical solutions, safety procedures and business operations.
  • Experience managing an operations budget of $4.5 million or more with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience managing Capital Projects in the Water and Wastewater Industry to include funding mechanisms.
