What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran:
 
The Water Conserv II facility is the largest water reuse project of its kind in the world, combining agricultural irrigation with aquifer recharge via rapid infiltration basins (RIBs). This is an excellent opportunity to join an award-winning facility and team!
 
The Maintenance Chief is responsible for supervising the Maintenance Department at the Water Conserv II facility and ensures that work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. This position plans, develops, organizes, schedules, and supervises all routine, preventive, and corrective mechanical, electrical, instrumentation. In this role, you will be responsible for coordination across multiple trades on complex projects, including but not limited to, solicitation, procurement, scheduling, budgetary control, and documenting project completion. This role reports directly to the Facility Project Manager. 
 
Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 10-hour shift. May be required to work some weekends and holidays and be available for emergency call-outs as needed.


What you will need to succeed:

  • High school diploma, or educational equivalent, required.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience of mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation personnel.
  • Must have the ability to work well and communicate with clients, upper-management and the general public, and to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Ten years’ experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment. 
  • Thorough knowledge of the maintenance aspects of various mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment. Experience in the use of the megohmmeter, multimeter, ground resistance tester, hipot machine, function generator, multimeter, electro-pneumatic calibrator. Experience in the operation of 13,000-volt electrical systems, programmable logic controllers and telemetry systems a plus.
  •  Journeyman electrician is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Office programs, computerized maintenance programs and computerized databases.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, control diagrams, ladder logic, manufacturer's specifications and other technical documents related to the maintenance of electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to review new construction and equipment upgrade contract documents and drawings for configuration, integration into existing systems, and conformance to various design and materials standards.
  • Must have the ability to effectively conduct on-the-job training for operations and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Must possess a valid Florida State driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to work schedules which may include weekend or holiday duty, carry a company provided phone, and be willing to respond to emergencies at any time.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
