JOB SUMMARY

The Program Manager with the Sustainable Finance Program and Transition Minerals Initiative provides high-level project management and support to both teams.

The Program Manager will support the management and project coordination of grant-making across both teams, alongside other program and initiative staff and grant specialists. This position also supports both teams in strategy development, annual planning and budgeting, proposal and report preparation, and funder outreach, including in coordination with colleagues in the Grants and Finance, Marketing and Communications and Philanthropic Partnerships team.

In addition, for the Transition Minerals portion of the role will also support grant scoping, and relationship management.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Sustainable Finance, with a dotted line to the Associate Director, Transition Minerals, and in the Sustainable Finance team will provide line management for the Program Assistant.

ESSENTIAL TASKS

The Program Manager is responsible for the following duties for both teams:

·       Provide general organizational and operational management

·       Manage and support a variety of projects contributing to budgeting, planning, reporting, and grants in the relevant program areas

·       Function as a point of contact and representative of the teams enabling grant-making, and funder reporting

·       Support the production of grant reports, communications materials, and funder reports

·       Assist with production and quality control of outgoing work products

·       Provide research, planning, and general support to the team as needed

In addition, the Program Manager will:

·       Oversee the management and supervision of Program Assistant for the Sustainable Finance Program

·       Manage grantee and ecosystem relationships and support communications with external partners and facilitation of various group conversations for the Transition Minerals Initiative


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications:

·       4-6 years’ experience in program support roles with some experience working in non-profits or foundations

·       Ability to initiate and manage projects, and to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision

·       Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

·       Experience working in service to broad range of clients and stakeholders

·       Good personal and interpersonal communications skills

·       Competence in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, along with competence in database management (e.g. Salesforce) and with Asana

·       Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and multi-task

·       Experience with, or aptitude for, managing others, including support staff and interns

·       Willingness to be flexible, adaptable, and proactive in a dynamic work environment

·       Ability and willingness to travel as needed

·       Passion for environmental and social issues

·       Commitment to the mission and values of ClimateWorks Foundation

·       Ability to represent ClimateWorks and the Sustainable Finance Program in meetings with partners in external events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·       Strong written and oral communications skills

·       Excellent research and analytical skills

·       Experience working in sustainable finance, climate philanthropy or energy transition policy is a plus


Compensation 

ClimateWorks offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience (geographic differential applied based on location).

Salary Range (Bay Area / NYC): $112,000 - $115,000 annually

Salary Range (Other US): $110,000 - $112,000 annually

Location 

ClimateWorks Foundation is based in the San Francisco Financial District. This position is classified as US Flexible. Exceptional candidates can work from the SF office or from other locations, geographic differential applied to compensation based on local cost of labor.
