About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Analyst to contribute to our North America gas markets team based in Mexico City or Calgary.
The North America Gas markets team delivers world class research, data, insight and analysis to a wide range of clients, including detailed regional and global market fundamentals analysis, macro industry trends, project and market events and corporate insights.
The Gas & LNG research practice at Wood Mackenzie leverages unique, proprietary information and modelling to serve clients, and together we work with a range of clients including national and major oil companies, operators, investment banks and institutional investors. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact.
This analytical role is pivotal to the success of the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering in-depth, high quality gas market analysis, including supply-demand balancing and working with the teams across the business to forecast supply, demand and natural gas prices.
This role will be a primary user of Wood Mackenzie’s proprietary supply and gas pipeline flow forecasting models and will contribute significantly to the team’s short- and long-term gas market forecasts.
The role holder will collaborate with the team to publish written reports and presentations for clients on the WoodMac portal (www.woodmac.com). An analytical mind, expert level skillsets in Microsoft Excel and at least five years of experience and deep understanding of North America gas markets are essential to deliver success in the role. A collaborative attitude and a desire to develop and expand gas market knowledge are also critical.

You have either worked in an energy markets role, consulting business or have been directly involved in a commercial gas related role with an industry participant. You have deep industry knowledge, a strong understanding and passion for market analysis and a track record or recognised potential in coaching others.

The way in which you work enables you to build effective, collaborative internal relationships and can influence across a matrix organization. You appreciate that diversity of experience and thought makes a difference and that working across different geographies requires cultural appreciation.
You can easily identify and size commercial opportunities. You possess sound commercial acumen and are passionate about navigating through change and business transformation.
Your commercial and industry knowledge coupled with your people skills will enable you deliver our vision for our regional gas market offerings, which help solve our client’s questions embedded with their workflows.
You are passionate about what you do and the quality of your work makes you credible with clients and able to engage at the senior level. You enjoy the development and implementation of modelling and integrated scenario problem-solving. You are energised by asking questions and thinking creatively.
