Work Type & Schedule: Full time, Permanent role; Monday-Friday

Work Location: Okhla, New Delhi; Field travel for client projects

cKinetics is looking for a seasoned Sr Manager/Engagement Manager who is passionate about Sustainability and seeking to mainstream the same in Industrial settings.

The candidate would be part of the Sustainability Industries practice of cKinetics, with a special focus on driving sustainability in manufacturing value chains. The Sustainable Industries practice provides strategic and operational advisory in the areas of resource efficiency, climate goals related action in supply chains, decarbonization, water neutrality, and material and resource circularity to various Indian and global Corporates. The work entails developing insights into environmental sustainability-related issues and framing recommendations on pathways for developing sustainable products, rolling out global best practices of manufacturing, enhancing resource efficiency in manufacturing processes, clean energy transition, circular resource use mechanisms, as also ESG reporting and disclosures.

Purpose of the position

An Engagement Manager will be responsible for overall Project Accountability and also support the practice business development efforts. An Engagement Manager at cKinetics is expected to lead in the development of "insights" leading to value creation for the clients.

The candidate will be required to (i) develop deep insight of different drivers and constraints in implementation of various sustainability interventions; (ii) manage end-to-end Project delivery including overseeing different team members working on the concerned projects (iii) Guide the team members in undertaking primary and secondary research; as also formulate appropriate solution frameworks (iv) support practice leadership in crafting necessary collateral such as White Papers and Intelligence Briefs as also business proposals.

Key responsibilities

Project Management

• Plan and execute the sustainability advisory projects in the areas of Resource Efficiency (Energy, water, waste, etc), Renewable Energy, Cleaner Production

• Lead the integration of ESG facets also global mandates such as SBTi, EP100, RE100 etc. into Sustainability interventions formulated for the Clients

• Lead the project team(s) in formulating timely and cost-effective solutions as also providing oversight and inputs to different team members on assigned tasks

• Plan and undertake Onsite/ On-ground field or site visits as required for the different engagements

Client Engagement

• Ensuring client delight through analytical, impactful, and world-class written and oral presentations backed with data insights and requisite analysis

• Create customized Client retention strategies through high client engagement activities

Business Development Support

• Provide business development support by undertaking active pursuits with existing and potential cKinetics clients – this shall entail developing proposals, concept notes and other collateral as needed for presenting cKinetics capabilities

• Developing innovative solutions and aim to generate new intellectual property in aspects related to Circular Economy, Sustainable Material and Decentralized Production and Consumption models

Team Management & Development

• Nurturing and building a high caliber team by unlocking their potential through work opportunities and people development tools and plan to upskill them

• Managing and mentoring the Senior Associates, Associates, and Analysts to align them with the company and client expectations.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate must be desirous to mainstream Sustainability through clean supply chains, circularity, and resource-efficient manufacturing processes. She/he must have the following mindset and skills sets:

• Proactive and independent person with a demonstrated passion for sustainability in manufacturing /industrial supply chains

• Flexible and creative mindset; curious and creative individual able to understand quickly the complexities of a client organization’s products and markets

• Prior, relevant experience in leading teams and managing projects on a P &L basis

• Strong analytical abilities and excellent presentation skills

• Ability to work ‘hands-on’ and multi-task in an energetic environment

• Ability to present and discuss the research and findings to a high-level audience and industry experts

Academic qualifications & Experience

• Masters in disciplines such as Environmental Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related domain

• Must have relevant 6-8 years of experience in Consulting or Industry related to Sustainability, resource efficiency, circular economy, sustainability target setting, carbon accounting, ESMS frameworks, ESG due diligence and/or ESG governance

• Knowledge of sustainability standards or frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Integrated Reporting (IR), CDP, Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) a plus
