Position Description


As an Electrical/Controls Engineer, you will contribute to the technical success of energy storage projects by supporting design, integration, and commissioning activities. Working closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors, you will ensure the effective delivery of technical project requirements and configurations for FlexGen’s energy storage systems. Reporting to the Director of Systems Engineering, you will play a key role in advancing FlexGen’s industry-leading solutions for sustainable energy.


Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the technical design and commissioning of energy storage projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to gather and validate equipment specifications.
  • Review project engineering drawings and provide feedback to ensure compliance with project needs.
  • Develop BOMs and schematics for control systems and networking.
  • Participate in the design of network architecture for energy storage systems following FlexGen best practices.
  • Translate project control requirements into specifications for system configurations.
  • Support integration and commissioning teams by preparing test plans and reviewing test results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project implementation.
  • Maintain and manage project technical documentation.
  • Answer technical RFIs and provide detailed, timely responses to project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the configuration of the FlexGen HybridOS Energy Management System to meet project performance requirements.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

  • At least 2 to 4 years of engineering experience in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
  • Power Systems,Control Systems, Networking/Communications, Power Conversion, Energy Storage
  • Knowledge of three-phase power system fundamentals, including short circuit protection and voltage/frequency stability.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical single-line diagrams, mechanical drawings, and network schematics.
  • Proficiency with TCP/IP networking, switch configuration, and LAN/WAN setup.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
